Use it offline
The whole guide is built to work without internet: save it in your browser, download a copy, or keep it on a USB stick.
1. Save it in this browser (easiest)
Works on phones, tablets and computers. After saving, just open this site's address. It loads even with no signal.
The guide: every page, picture, checklist and calculator (about 10 MB).
Tip: on a phone, also use Add to Home Screen (Safari's share menu, or Chrome's ⋮ menu) so the guide opens like an app.
2. Download a complete copy
- Download the ZIP and unzip it (on Windows: right-click → Extract All).
- Open the
grid-down-guidefolder and double-clickindex.html. It opens in your web browser with no internet needed. - Copy the folder to a USB stick, an old laptop, or every computer in the house. It's small enough to keep everywhere.
3. Print the essentials
Batteries die. Print the pages you'd need most, or print the whole guide, and keep the binder with your flashlight and radio. Each page has a Print this page button, and the checklists page prints all checklists together.
What doesn't work offline
Videos stream from YouTube and need a connection. Outside links (government sites, outage maps) need internet too. Everything else works offline.
